Nottingham a Buto
 

Non Robin Hood ma cinque studentesse della "School of Geography" sono giunte da Nottingham e nel pomeriggio di sabato 15 aprile sono state ospitate nel nostro paese dall'associazione ButoCultur@.
Queste giovani fanno parte dei gruppi di studenti dell'Università inglese che ogni anno visitano l'Alta Val di Vara per studiarne il territorio e la storia nel programma di incontri curato dall'Università di Genova, in particolare dal prof. Diego Moreno, in collaborazione con don Sandro Lagomarsini, parroco di Cassego.
Le studentesse inglesi nell'occasione dovevano approfondire il tema "fungo", scoprendone l'habitat, le varietà, i metodi di ricerca, i segreti per cucinarlo.
Carlo, Elide, Leandro e Maurizio, aiutati dall'interprete, hanno guidato le studentesse alla scoperta dei boschi di castagni che circondano Buto, hanno loro mostrato le zone dove è più facile trovare il famoso "porcino", hanno offerto una colazione (di studio) preparata dalla Elide con frittelle di farina di castagne, formaggio e salame e hanno donato alcuni dei libri pubblicati da ButoCultur@, come quello sulle ricette del Monte Gottero, le pubblicazioni sul paese e quella sulla Confraternita di San Pietro Apostolo.
Purtroppo non è stato possibile trovare l'argomento del loro studio, non essendo ancora stagione favorevole; tuttavia l'entusiasmo che le giovani hanno mostrato ha contagiato anche i membri dell'associazione, pronti a ripetere l'esperimento con altri gruppi.
Anche al mattino un altro gruppo che si occupa dello studio "degli stucchi", e' stato accompagnato dalla Linda a Porciorasco e domenica 15 aprile lo stesso gruppo e' stato portato nella nostra chiesa della Focetta di Buto da Bertino.
Uno degli obiettivi di ButoCultur@ consiste proprio nel diffondere (anche nel mondo) la conoscenza dei valori e delle tradizioni delle nostre comunità di montagna. L'incontro con le studentesse inglesi ha permesso di realizzarlo."

Five girl-students of the School of Geography, and not Robin Hood, came from Nottingham on Saturday afternoon, April 15th. They were put up in our village by the ButoCultur@ association.
These girls – who are members of a student group of such an English university - visit Alta Val di Vara every year with the purpose of studying its territory and History, within the framework of a meetings plan managed by the Genoa University, particularly by Prof. Diego Moreno along with the Cassego’s parish co-operation, Father Sandro Lagomarsini.
This year, these English girl-students had to look into the mushrooms subject, by finding out the habitat, variety, picking methods, and how to cook them.
Carlo, Elide, Leandro, and Maurizio, along with the interpreter assistance, leaded the girl-students to discover chestnut woods surrounding Buto, showed the areas where it’s easier to pick the famous porcino. They also offered a chestnut-flour croquette (study) lunch prepared by Elide, and cheese and salami as well, and gave them some books published by ButoCultur@ dealing with Monte Gottero recipes, the village, and the Saint-Peter Apostle Brotherhood.
Unfortunately, it was impossible for them to complete a thorough study of their subject, for the season is not favourable yet, nevertheless the enthusiasm showed by the girls also caught association’s members, who are ready to repeat the occasion with other groups.
Another group being interested in the study of stucco works was accompanied by Linda to Porciorasco in the morning, and on Sunday, April 15th, the same group was taken by Bertino into our Buto’s church called Della Focetta.
One of the purposes of ButoCultur@ is just to spread knowledge (all over the world) of culture and traditions of our mountain communities. Meeting the English girl-students let us achieve it.
